I order Domino's last night and the delivery guy rolled up in a mid-90's Pontiac Grand Prix. That got me thinking. What is the greatest stereotypical pizza delivery car? The first thing that came to my mind was a Plymouth Sundance:
Moderate rust, missing hub caps...you get the idea.
Although, I would up the tip a bit if it was a Shelby CSX:

In the town I grew up in it was either Sunfires, Cavaliers, CRXs, or Preludes.

A guy down the street from me is a Domino's delivery driver. He had a white early-90's Pontiac Grand Prix for a few weeks, then an early '00s jellybean Escort. Prior to those, it was a mid-'00s Altima. One of his coworkers had a Saleen Focus. Actually, the first white one that showed up when I GIS'ed it was the very same car:

For decades my favorite pizza joint used Ford Festiva, they were the purest definition of a beater.
When they trashed all the available ones in the used market, they switched to this:
Equally ridiculous, probably as fun to drive and fast around town. Excellent choice.

Here in Puerto Rico it's either this or a Tercel.

For a few months I had the displeasure of working as an assistant manager at a dominos pizza. The vast majority of the other assistant managers and managers drove 2011ish new kias and suzukis they were all still paying off. The delivery drivers all drove beater late 90s american sedans or late 90s camrys. Not a single one had a clean car in reasonable condition; many of them were in grave disrepair and some even unsafe to drive. On top of that many of the delivery drivers drank and got high on the job and drove recklessly. We had many people call or follow the drivers back to store to complain. Bottom line: Dominos Sucks.
Interestingly they all seemed to be enamored with my e36 m3 which i keep in top shape.

In Norway the Yaris Verso is the obvious choice, of course as a two-seater.. They still use them, because the mechanics will last forever.

The title says pizza delivery vehicle...
Here it's all about these.
Though some riders have "evolved" to some bigger bikes.

And if it's not this, it's a Cavalier/Sunfire or, even better, a Pontiac Grand Am.
I think the key is that it either has to a) have never had any resale value, thus cheap on the used market, or b) have to be easily riced out, so whatever resale value it had can be obliterated.

Obviously it's that 1978 Gyoza you posted up top.

In 1998 I started delivering pizzas in an 88 Sundance. It was a blue 2-door with the 2.5 and 5-speed (with reverse behind first because German transmission)
It looked just like this but with two doors and bumpers hanging off the front and rear — sawblade hubcaps and all:
Then it was traded for a 1995 Saturn SL1. Then an 88 Buick Century and finally an 88 Isuzu pickup. Yeah— all of those are stereotypical pizza cars.
However the one I see most frequently is the 6-10 year old blah-Asian-sedan. Either an Elantra, Sentra, Corolla, or Civic with dents (here in the south we don't get much rust) and scratches all over the paint.
Or a beat-up S-10 or J-body GM product.
However, between 2003-11 or so the pizza cars were almost all Suzuki Forenzas.
I swear — The Suzuki dealers around here were advertising "we finance everyone," and it got to the point that the #1 selling small car in the Charlotte market was the Forenza. They're horrible little cars. One of the finance managers ended up going to jail for setting up straw buyers for people who weren't credit worthy.
So for a few years it seems like every pizza driver bought one of those because they had a warranty and cheap payments.

When I was working in the pizza/italian food delivery business, we had a fleet of these.
The Fiat Cinquecento Sporting. In PMY! With full decals on each side. In that area we were almost a household name, like your brown UPS truck, or the beige taxi. On deliveries, small children would ask me if I came with a yellow Fiat. When traffic was slow, the boss sent us out to cruise the neighborhood so that people might see our cars and get hungry.

I'm fairly certain that's not an actual Saleen focus. The wheels are stock Focus.
